THE NAME TAG

THE NAME TAG

               BY AGADA IKECHUKWU

Courage, they say, is leadership. Let me start by commending the leadership of Ohanaeze, Afenifere, Niger-Delta, Middle Belt etc for courageously making categorical statements rejecting the cattle colonies proposal brandished by the Federal Government.

This is obviously a payback time for the Presidency for killing the restructuring debate hungered by the peoples. Nigeria have been polarised politically across South with Middle Belt inclusive and Core North populated by the Fulani Supremacist, manured by the unabated debate for True Federalism which houses equitable distribution of powers and resources.

In the light of the cohesive voiced decision of the Pro-Restructuring (Anti-Cattle Colonies) group midwifed by the Southern Peoples Assembly, it will amount to a miracle to have Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State buy into the grazing colonies rejection status as scheming and intrigues for 2019 party tickets have thrown up the first Judas Iscariot from the group in the person of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State who openly endorsed the proposal against the will of his people.

Leadership in Nigeria have been plagued by bad governance and attitudinal indifference to the plight of the masses. This holistically beautifies the name tag of Fulani herdsmen to the supposedly terrorist tag it deserves. With all due respect, it will be easy for a cow to be President of Nigeria than for Buhari to gift terrorist nomenclature to an association he co-founded (Miyetti Allah-Herdsmen) and rose to their life patron. This line of thought is alien under the present political system captained by the Fulani Oligarchs.

The fronting of the rejected cattle colonies using the guise of the diversionary proposed June herders-farmers conference will not see the light of the day because the government have compromised their integrity by displaying favouritism and can no longer be trusted as an unbiased empire. This mistrust also goes to the recent committee set up by the Federal Government to facilitate the commencement of cattle colonies in interested states.

Nigerians have prayed, written, complained and spoken out enough, it is therefore high time we armed ourselves with the voters cards ahead of 2019 general elections to unanimously make a bold statement via the opportunity provided by the electoral process.

I hope the President and his political handlers will not visit these mourning states that he technically refused to pay condolences to in search of their votes because that will be tantamount to political suicide.

As a matter of urgency, the name tag of Fulani herdsmen should be more appropriately called “Terroristmen”. The reason is that the appellation Fulani herdsmen advertises them as a people doing their legitimate business of cattle rearing before the international community and government will capitalize on it to always favour and wall behind them.

This clarion call became necessary to avoid the Burundian and Rwandian experiences looming in Nigeria due to the carefully organized cleansing mechanism orchestrated by the nomadic ethnic militias (Miyetti Allah-Terroristmen) who lays claims to the Nigerian space as a gift to them by God.

GOD BLESS YOU
