THE NIGERIA OF MY DREAM

It is no longer news that Nigeria is blessedly maximally potentiated with both human and mineral resources , neither is it news that despite the divine investments at her disposal , the poverty rate is simply astronomical. What is actually news is that these times are transient and shall soon faze away only when her people submit it’s affairs to the Almighty God to be the Chief driver as they transit to the promised land (New Nigeria).

God created Nigeria for his glory and purpose and that purpose must be established. This is salvation time for Nigeria having been planted in the valley of dry bones for 54 years , it’s high time we spoke to the dry bones (Nigeria) to emerge operating in the office of prophets and prophetesses just like the biblical Ezekiel.

I will use the opportunity provided by this piece to share my thoughts on the Nigeria of my dream ( The New Nigeria).It is my honour and singular privilege to present them as follows :

A Nigeria with a proactive government that will listen to the yearnings of her people. A government where leaders will see the people as their employer and treat them accordingly. A system that will throw up some Godly leaders through a democratic free and fair process that will be generally accepted by the masses. A system that will mandate leaders to work their talk by ensuring full implementation of their manifestoes. A system with zero tolerance to tribal, religious , status and political leanings that will subscribe to the oath taking statement  “I BELONG TO EVERYBODY , I BELONG TO NOBODY” .

I foresee a Nigeria devoid of security challenges like Boko Haram terrorist group , Fulani Herders activities , ethnic militants , armed robbery attacks , kidnapping , rape , political assassinations and other forms of killing. A country free of quit notices , ethnic tension and cleansing , agitations , do-or-die politics , hate speeches , enmity , unforgiveness , bitterness , poverty etc. A nation where security agencies are not taking kickbacks , where honesty , equity , peace and justice reigns supreme among her different ethnic representations.

The Nigeria of my dream is a country that will receive global award for economic rating with surplus or over employment index to citizen’s ratio. A nation where Nigerian citizens will enjoy critical infrastructures made available by the government without taxes attached.A country that will compete with western nations in terms of uninterruptible power supply. A giant nation with a reputable transportation system that are not death traps where premium are given to life and property. An attractive nation free of economic recession , hunger , inflation , depression , suicide etc caused by bad governance.

I want a Nigeria that can boast of a robust educational system. A country sieved of corruption , immorality , indiscipline , hooliganism and so forth. A nation that will sanitize campuses of cultism and other various vices that have become bandwagon effect. A country where citizens will be proud of the green passport because of the global respect it commands.

Finally , I dream of a nation with standard health care system that will discourage traveling abroad for medical conditions. A country that will bid final goodbye to sicknesses and diseases. A nation with a fair justice system where lawyers , judges uphold only the truth without any bribery stimulation. A country where all citizens have equal rights to the benefits of her constitutional provisions. A nation with a favourable weather and climatic conditions. A country that will be acceptable to all.

In conclusion , dreaming dreams alone will not make it happen , because there is no shortcut to success. We have to balance our nation building dreams with hard work augmented in ceaseless prayers. This dream calls for us to submerge our self interest for national interest to emerge as a clarion call for nation building. This dream lives on and will manifest at the appointed time.

I challenge you to be steadfast , tenacious , dogged , patient and focused in your patriotism for the reconstruction of “New Nigeria”. Though the vision may tarry but it must surely come to pass , just be progressive , nationalist and patriotic minded.
