VOTE YOUR CONSCIENCE

LETTER TO LAGOSIANS        Dear Lagosians, Maximising the use of your Permanent Voters Cards through the ballot box is the globally recognised medium of effecting leadership change. Shying away from such constitutonal responsibility is akin to making Lucifer your father- in - law which could be fatal, deadly and counter productive. Disengage your mind from the experience of the past and dissociate yourself from the school of thought and fifth columnist scheming to make bold statements via protest votes and voter apathy in order to discredit the electoral process and provide platform for litigations. The romantic colour that befits Lagos State greatness is to wear her the royal blue face of sterling and selfless leadership. This colour can only be attractive if we come out enmasse to excercise our franchise and stand ready to ensure our votes counts. We should brush past the yesterday norm of observing the voting process from the comfort of our sit...

An 18-day-old baby has died after she contracted a life-threatening herpes infection through a kiss. Baby Mariana was born healthy on July 1, however, on July 7, which was her parents' wedding day, she became ill and had to be rushed to the hospital where doctors tried unsuccessfully to save her life. Iowa couple, Shane and Nicole Sifrit had to cut their wedding reception short to take their 6-day-old daughter to the Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, USA. At the hospital, doctors said the child had become infected with meningitis HSV-1, which is caused by the herpes virus. The virus is usually passed through sexual contact or transmitted from mother to child. Both parents of the child tested negative to the herpes virus, suggesting the baby had become infected through someone who had visited the family and kissed her. "It immediately went downhill from there. Within two hours she had quit breathing and all of her organs just started to fa...

THE GAME PLAN

CRISS CROSSING THE GAME PLAN BY AGADA IKECHUKWU The music produced by the rhythm and gyration of rascality, egoism and  unconscious bequeathal of insubordination, disregard for the rule of law, sit tightism, irritating mannerism and crass disdain for convention and constituted authority is precipitating a lot of interesting developments in Nigeria and beyond. It is only a man or woman whose brain is on vacation that will claim ignorance to the fact that dangerous animals like Pythons, Crocodiles, Jackals, Hyenas etc, are now part of the Nigerian political league. It is shocking to note that the political farm of Nigeria has germinated seekers of political messianism and ethno-religious jingoists with crude sentimentalism. It's obviously the time to shout foul, because, the truth is no longer gospel. The fear of the Acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo graduating to President in any unlikely event is chiefly the root cause of the unending power tussle ongoing in the country...
