LET HISTORY BE MADE
LET HISTORY BE MADE
BY AGADA IKECHUKWU
I am not here to offend sensibilities but to proffer a concretized solution to salvage our nation and move it forward. I am not speaking from any political leaning, religious romance, tribal pedestal, informed or uninformed affiliations and bias engagements; No Sir!!! not at all, but from a highly patriotic, honest, pragmatic and objective inclinations.
The truth is that we cannot be chorusing that the office of the people is the highest office if we are not using the platform to effect the necessary progressive changes in our country.
The Acting President while speaking in Abuja during an interactive session organized for public and civil servants on the implementation of the three executive orders which he signed; said and I quote: No matter how much you pray and fast our country cannot grow without some of us deciding to do the hard work that makes nation work. Great economies and great nations and communities are created by men not spirits.
Dissecting this submissions produces a very timely, wise, true and straight to point summary of the scenario currently at play in the country. When people are in an environment where social cultural needs are well fed, they crave less for miracles. The Nigerian political space sells people the need to sought spiritual assistance in the event of unsuccessful physical efforts to make ends meet.
It is seriously a wake up call that craves for sober reflection to reawaken the giants in us. The Acting President who spoke standing in the office of the law, governance and a prophet, obviously crystallized and sampled opinions holding marriage of these three offices before going public.
May I announce to you that the onus lies in our clarion and selfless determination to make our country great by taking the right steps and decisions collectively as a nation. How?
By rooting out the biblical children of Anak( The Anaks or Anakim) that masquerades as cabal holding our nation to ransom by supporting a David that is mightier than Goliath who is their offspring. We have to still the activities and cancerous influence of this political vampires frustrating our hard work and driving many into spiritual wilderness in search of solution in a nation that is blessedly potentiated, by arming ourselves with the requisite credentials like Voters Card, Knowledge,Prayers,Commitment etc to put them in the spotlight before they outsmart us.
In the spirit of love and sportsmanship, it is healthy and patriotic to pray for the speedy recovery of Mr President’s health status but we also have to be bold and courageous enough to tell the President and his praise singers the hard truth which is to do the needful by resigning to move the country forward.
The President should etch his name in gold, print his legacy in the sands of time and engrave his footprints in the hall of fame by honourably and most angelically stepping down his supposedly exalted position based on health grounds if he is truly a patriot and believes in one Nigeria so that history and posterity will do a great justice to him because leadership is all about movement, it is more of what you do than say.
TAKE HOME !!!
I totally disagree and dissociate myself from the school of thought wishing the President bad; it is morally and religiously wrong to wish someone evil. I don't think any religion subscribes to such ideology.
But the President and his foot soldiers should know that Nigerians have been fair to him by waiting and engaging in ceaseless prayers to ensure his health bounces back. They should also know that we cannot wait forever having two Presidents(One acting; one the real President) at the helm of affair. It cannot stand the test of time constitutionally and should be discouraged.
The self determination and secession plight of some sections of the country should be addressed positively by building bridges of fairness, equity and justice in the distribution of federal allocations using the federal character principle. The recent exclusion of South East from the federal capital project “the railway” is painful and should not be allowed to go unnoticed.
The word patriotism in the Nigerian context should not be mere noisy noise, mouthing of communication and parroting of ethnicity and religion to the detriment of our Nation. The place of prayer in nation building cannot be overemphasized but it has to be cemented with maximum hard work, wisdom and knowledge. GOD BLESS YOU
HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY
